I want to show the difference between Indian style of clothing and western style of clothing for my coursework, coming from india myself I want to help people see the fashion that india gives provides to the fashion industry. This will also show my passion, knowledge and interest in fashion. My aim is to look into fashion and styling magazines, also using my photography skills and knowledge.

Magazines I looked into (inspiration)-

1. Elle 

French-born Elle is a global women's magazine that covers a range of topics including society, lifestyle, and fashion and beauty. Elle translates to "She" in French. With 45 international editions that reach 33 million readers and 100 million unique monthly visitors across its 55 digital platforms, Elle is regarded as "one of the world's largest fashion and lifestyle publications".

Hélène Gordon-Lazareff started it in Paris in 1945. Since the publication's inception, its audience has expanded, reaching 800,000 in all of France by the 1960s. Since then, the number of Elle editions has increased, resulting in a global network of readers and publications. With the introduction of Elle USA and Elle UK in 1985, Elle started to expand internationally. Past editors of magazines include Roberta Myers, the longest-serving editor-in-chief of Elle USA, and Jean-Dominique Bauby of Elle France. At now, Véronique Philipponnat serves as Elle France's director. Nina Garcia was appointed as Elle USA's editor-in-chief following Roberta Myers's departure from the role. The worldwide brand is owned by the Lagardère Group, headquartered in Paris. The official home of Elle France is in the Greater Paris area of Levallois-Perret.

2. Vogue 

Vogue U.S., also referred to as American Vogue or just VOGUE, is a monthly fashion and lifestyle publication that covers runway, beauty, culture, living, and haute couture fashion news. It is a component of the worldwide VOGUE media portfolio from Condé Nast. 

Vogue started off as a weekly newspaper in 1892 and eventually transitioned into a monthly magazine. Its headquarters are located in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan at One World Trade Center. Numerous actors, musicians, models, athletes, and other well-known celebrities have appeared in Vogue since its establishment. With Lady Gaga on the cover, the September 2012 issue of Vogue magazine was the largest ever released at 900 pages.

The first international issue of Vogue was British Vogue, which debuted in 1916. Meanwhile, Vogue Italia, an Italian counterpart, has been dubbed the best fashion magazine globally.[2] There are 28 international editions as of March 2024. Condé Nast publishes eleven of these editions: Vogue Taiwan, Vogue México y Latinoamérica, Vogue China, Vogue France, Vogue Germany, Vogue India, Vogue Japan, Vogue Taiwan, Vogue U.S. The final seventeen editions are released under permission from VOGUE.

The inside pages of these magazines provide information on beauty and clothing, which is what I want my two pages to cover. The information about style both the type of fashion holds. 

I am highly inspired by these 2 magazines as both the magazines hold their place in the fashion industry providing their best information about clothing, shopping, beauty and etc. Since the 1700s, magazines have been a kind of literary publication that has been used to disseminate news and information relevant to the interests of a broad or niche readership. One kind of general interest magazine that has something to offer every reader is the consumer magazine.
